MY G Sebagai Modem
Saat ini handphone MY G telah dapat digunakan sebagai modem GPRS. Sehingga kita dapat browsing dimana saja dengan menggunakan MY G sebagai modemnya. Beberapa tipe handphone telah kami uji dan dapat digunakan sebagai modem diantaranya : My G 100, My G 110, My G 638, My G 630, My G 660, My G 800, My G 810, My G 818, My G 819, My G 901 dan My G 906. Bagaimana cara nya?
Untuk menjadikan handphone My G sebagai modem internet, harus dilakukan beberapa tahap yaitu :
Pastikan layanan GPRS pada sim card telah diaktifkan , tanyakan ke provider kartu anda untuk cara mengaktifkannya.
Setelah aktif dapat mengikuti langkah – langkah sebagai berikut :
I . INSTALASI DRIVER KABEL
1. Colok Kabel ke CPU & HP, pilih mode Com Port pada handphone
2. Setelah itu akan diminta driver, pilih no,no this time, klik next
3. Pilih instal from specific location (advance), klik next
4. Pilih Don’t search ,just chose the driver to install, next
5. Pilih have disk, browse, arahkan file ke My G port.inf (file ini dapat didownload di www.my-gmobile.com),setelah itu akan muncul My G port, pilih next lalu continue anyway
6. Klik kanan di My Computer pilih properties - Hardware – Device Manager, periksa dibagian port akan muncul MyG Port ( com X ) catat angka X tersebut untuk mengetahui dimana kabel data anda terinstall.
II . SETTING MODEM DIKOMPUTER
1. Pilih start – setting – control panel – phone and modem option – modem – pilih add
2. Centang Don’t detect my modem, I will select it from list, klik next
3. Pilih standar modem 1440Bps modem, next
4. Pilih Comm Port sesuai yang terinstall di kebel tadi, lalu pilih next – finish
5. Klik kanan di standar 14400Bps modem, pilih properties, advanced, masukkan AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”APN operator”
contoh : AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","indosatgprs" (untuk Indosat)
Daftar setting per kartu : (silakan di copy lalu paste di computer anda)
Matrix Indosat (Rp.10,-/kb): AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”indosatgprs”
IM3 Indosat (Rp.1,-/kb): AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”indosatgprs”
III . MEMBUAT KONEKSI DIAL UP
1. Masuk ke start – setting – control panel – network connection –
2. Create a new connection, next
3. Connect to the internet, next
4. Setup my connetion manually, next
5. Connect using dial-up modem, next
6. Isi ISP terserah anda ( contoh indosat gprs ) lalu next
7. Isi phone number dengan *99***1#
8. Isi user name dan password sesuai kartu anda detailnya sebagai berikut:
Mentari / IM3 / Matrix - User name: indosat, Password : indosat
9. Klik pada bagian Add a shortcut to this connetion to my dekstop, agar koneksi bs di gunakan
IV . KONEKSI KE INTERNET
Untuk connect ke internet tinggal klik 2x pada icon di desktop lalu dial

Caranya adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Pastikan Desktop Manager anda telah terinstall minimal versi 4. Cara mengecek versi desktop
manager anda adalah sebagai berikut buka desktop manager – Help – General..
2. Hubungkan BlackBerry handset dengan PC/Laptop menggunakan USB kabel. Kemudian buka
Desktop Manager anda dari PC/laptop. Penggunaan BlackBerry sebagai modem hanya
berjalan apabila desktop manager dijalankan
3. Pastikan Modem Driver berfungsi. Dari PC/laptop, klik Setting - Control panel - Phone and
Modems Options. Pada Tab Modem , akan terlihat Standard Modem baru pada port yang baru
(misalnya COM3, COM6 atau COM 11).
Kemudian klik Properties - Diagnostics - Query Modem lalu
akan terlihat seperti salah satu dibawah ini :

Tutup Phone and Modem Options serta Control Panel. Buat koneksi baru dengan cara sebagai
berikut :
1. Klik Start - Connect To - Show all connections - Create a new connection - Next
2. Pilih "Connect To The Internet" - Next
3. Pilih "Set up my connection manually" - Next
4. Pilih "Connect using a dial-up modem" - Next.
5. Cek mark pada Standard Modem ( jika ditanyakan ).
6. Beri nama koneksi tersebut dengan nama seperti "BlackBerry Modem", klik Next.
7. Pada layar berikutnya pilih nomor telephone berikut, tergantung dari masing2 kartu yg
digunakan. Jika anda menggunakan GSM : masukkan no phone *99***1# atau *99#
8. Klik Next. Kosongkan User name dan password
9. Klik Finish.
Kemudian silahkan coba Browsing ke Internet menggunakan koneksi yang baru dibuat diatas

Handset Blackberry anda ternyata dapat digunakan sebagai modem untuk koneksi ke internet.
